Dear Parents and Students,
Term 1 has launched with tremendous energy across our Secondary Sports Program. From carnivals to academy competitions, it has been fantastic to see such strong participation and school spirit already on display.
Annual Secondary Swimming Carnival 2026
What a wonderful day we shared at our Annual Secondary Swimming Carnival. The atmosphere was filled with fun, enthusiasm, and healthy competition. This year we introduced a novelty-only pool section, which proved to be a tremendous success. It provided more inclusive opportunities for students who may not feel confident in traditional swimming races, ensuring everyone could participate and enjoy the day.
Congratulations to our overall champions, Distance Education – Flynn Bulls (White House), who finished in first place. Final standings were as follows:
1st – Flynn Bulls (White House) 2nd – McConnell Rams (Green House) 3rd – Oxley Lions (Yellow House) 4th – Garland Eagles (Blue House) 5th – Noble Brumbies (Red House)
A sincere thank you to all staff who worked behind the scenes to make this event such a success.
Weekly Sport Competitions Underway
Our weekly interschool sport program is now in full swing. Senior School (Years 10–12) compete on Wednesdays, while Middle School (Years 7–9) compete on Thursdays against schools across the Moreton Bay Region. These weekly fixtures provide valuable opportunities for students to develop resilience, teamwork, and competitive experience in a positive sporting environment.
Four Thriving Sports Academies – Including Dance

We are excited to announce that ACC now offers four Sports Academies: Basketball, Futsal, Netball, and Dance. Our newest addition, the Dance Academy, has already attracted over 40 students and is flourishing under the leadership of Mrs Pogson. These academies represent the pinnacle of our sporting programs and operate nearly year-round, providing students with high-level coaching and development opportunities.
Junior Boys Basketball Academy – Strong Start
Our Junior Boys Basketball Academy Team (Years 7–8) has begun their BOSL (Brisbane Outer Schools League) season in outstanding fashion, winning their opening game by over 30 points. The team looks sharp and is shaping up as a strong contender for the competition title. Our remaining BOSL teams will commence their seasons early in Term 2, and we look forward to supporting them.
Fun Sports Club Activities
Our Fun Sports Clubs continue to offer enjoyable and inclusive opportunities for students throughout Term 1. Popular activities include Gym Club, Running Club, Table Tennis, and Sports Hall activities, providing a great outlet for fitness, friendship, and fun. Please refer to the table on the next page for further details regarding schedules and participation.
Best regards,
Mr Jason Todio
