Senior School News | Teachers v Students Volleyball and more

Term 1 has seemed to flow by so quickly as each term does but as we head towards the end of Term 1 it is good to reflect on some of the highlights of the term from Senior School.

Earlier in the term we had 2 camps; our Emu Gully Year 12 camp and our Senior Biology and Marine Camp. In both camps there were many lessons learnt and great memories to hold for the future.

We were also blessed this term with a visit from a school in Okayama and our senior students had the great opportunity to buddy up and show them what school looks like in an Australian context. All our buddies represented the school with pride and were a fantastic example.

The Year 12 games vs Teachers have also started this term as we battled in Volleyball. While putting up a fight the students went down to the teachers in a hard-fought match.

Last but not least I want to make you aware of a new initiative we are starting in Secondary School. Values Valued (V Squared) is a positive behaviour model initiative that rewards students who are shining examples of the College’s values. Students and staff can nominate students to receive an award based on the CHRIST values of the College. Students will receive a certificate which would look fantastic on a resume when looking for work. Please encourage your child to always strive to exemplify the values of the school regardless of getting rewarded.

Year 11

Our Year 11 students have been diligently working on assignments to finish up Term 1. They have demonstrated dedication and a strong work ethic. Many have also stepped up to lead chapels and speak at Mr. Doolan's Celebration of Life, showcasing their leadership and initiative within the school community. Many students have displayed exceptional servant leadership by taking the opportunity to host Japanese Buddies. These connections lead to meaningful cross-cultural learning and foster a sense of community belonging for ACC and our Japanese visitors. Overall, Year 11 students are balancing their academic responsibilities and leadership roles with diligence and joy.
